CLASSIC HEIRLOOM PORTRAIT

Head and Shoulders Only

This portrait is a facial and upper shoulder watercolor rendering of a single person or pet with a solid or wash background. Each portrait is painted in professional grade watercolors on Arches watercolor paper. A border of one or more inches around the artwork and outside of the noted dimensions is included to allow adequate space for proper framing or mounting.

CUSTOM FORMAT HEIRLOOM PORTRAIT

This portrait entails rendering additional features to a head and shoulders only portrait or changing the format of the artwork entirely. Examples of additional features: the subject's full body; more than one subject; or intricate details in the background or clothing of the subject. Examples of changing the format: a custom size or shape artwork; rendering of a home, building or landscape; using materials other than traditional watercolors and Arches watercolor paper. I will give you a personalized quote based on your specific requests. For the most accurate quote, it is best to send the photo or photos you are considering.

Hand-cut and Hand-painted

Each heirloom silhouette is hand crafted in my private studio. As a mother, I know that even the tiniest flyaways count. That special curl in your little one’s hair or sweet cowlick on your pup’s head are essential to capturing what makes your loved ones uniquely yours. Every time you encounter your one of a kind artwork, you are not looking at a generalized representation of your loved one but stepping back into a perfect memory in which each little feature has been perfectly preserved. If you’re a traditionalist, a small heirloom silhouette, cut from artist quality black paper and mounted on an ecru background, may be your cup of tea. However, a hand painted heirloom silhouette that has been painted on canvas or watercolor paper makes a beautiful, bold statement. No matter your preference, your work of art will be uniquely yours, one of a kind, and crafted with quality second to none.  

Heirloom hand-cut silhouettes are crafted using heavy artist grade papers and archival adhesives and varnishes. Hand-painted silhouettes can be rendered on gallery wrapped canvases in black acrylic and oil paints or hand painted in watercolor on artist quality watercolor board or paper. Special requests (painted hand-cut, full body, etc) welcome and available at an additional charge.

Shipping & Payment

Local area pick up (Germantown/East Memphis, TN) is free of charge. Shipping varies according to distance and size of the artwork. Artwork that is not considered “oversize” is generally less than $20 for two-day insured trackable delivery. An exact shipping quote will be given to you prior to your placing a deposit for your project. 

 

All orders require a 20% non-refundable deposit that goes toward the total balance for the project. Your deposit reserves your space on my books. The remainder of your balance is due when work begins on your commission.
